Division of 155 Slaves in the Estate of Francis Marion, Charleston, SC, 1833

On December 27 and 28, 1833, appraisers divided the estate of Francis Marion. The record of the division notes how the 155 slaves were divided among Marion's heirs.

Below are the names of Marion's heirs, and names of the enslaved ancestors they received:

Under the terms of Francis Marion's will, his widow Harriet Marion was to select 6 slaves before the estate was divided. She selected:

· Francis - Slave

Louisa C Marion was also to select 6 enslaved ancestors. She selected:
