This is Jonathan "Hower," not "Honer." Born 11/18/1794, a son of Anthony and Mary Kershner Hower/Houer. The wife listed in this census (Elizabeth Margaret Moore Hower), is his second wife. His first wife was Lydia Castle (1800-1840). In 1825 Jonathan Hower was placed in indenture to serve as spring keeper to purchase Plot #38 in Clear Spring, Md. The property measuring 66' breadth and 198' length. Four years later he was made one of the trustees of the German Reformed Congregation of St. Peter's Church in Clear Spring. Jonathan Hower died 4/24/1865 and was buried in the St. Peter's cemetery.
