Harry Leon Keen
On Valentines Day 1895 Harry Keen became engaged to Elizabeth Bowman, daughter of the late Maurice Nathaniel Bowmand and Emma Stalker Hullin Bowman. Elizabeth was called Bessie. They married in the chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church on December 20, 1895. (I think this church was in New Orleans, Louisiana.) They had six children
According to written notes by Emma Keen, a daughter of Harry and Elizabeth, and who was the famiy historian/genealogist, Harry was a traveling agent for the L.C.Arny firm in 1895. He was saving his earnings to have a home and some financial security to start a marraige with. Emma writes that Harry was a handsome man with fine black eyes and curly black hair. He had a mustache of the "handlebar" style. He liked music and dancing and theatre.
Harry apparently was educated. I have two handwritten letters by him, both addressed to his son. One in 1899 when his son was only 3 years old and another dated 1917.
