Charles Bissey

Charles Bissey was born on October 2, 1822.  He was the son of Abraham Bissey and Susan Huntsberger.  Charles worked as a blacksmith as a young man and then as a farmer.  He married Caroline Althouse on June 5th, 1853.  She was born on October 18, 1828.  They had 5 children: Jacob A, Amandus A, Mary E, Caroline(died early in life) and Harvey.  The lot for the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perkasie was land purchased from Charles Bissey located at Sellersville Road and Main Street (now Fifth and Chestnut St). This information was taken from the History of Bucks County and the 100th Anniversary of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
