Rev. Jonathan Burleson
JOHNATHAN (JONATHAN) BURLESON was born to Jonathan Burleson, Sr. and mother unknown, on February 15, 1790 in Rutherford County, probably in North Carolina, probably in North Carolina, although the 1860 census of Bastrop County, Texas indicates Kentucky as the state of his birth. He died July 28, 1866 in Hopkinsville, Gonzales County, Texas, In Warren County, Kentucky, August 6,1811, he married by bond to Rebecca McClure who was the daughter of Josiah and Sarah Harris McClure. Rebecca was born October 15, 1794 in Warren County, Kentucky and died December 16, 1884. There is a question as to where she is buried. Some records give Sonora, Texas but it could have been San Saba, Texas where her son lived. If she was buried at Center Point, Texas there is no grave marker. The census records show Rebecca, widow of Rev. Jonathan Burleson in Kerr County, 1880. Research of census records reflect the migration of this family, 1790 North Carolina, 1800 Kentucky, 1810 Warren County
