Stephen Pinckney

| Carmel, Putnam Co., NY

Stephen and Sarah (nee:Hill) Pinckney are my fourth great-grandparents. Sarah died in 1848. There were eleven children born to this couple. I am related through Arabella who married Platt Purcell. Platt was born in Ireland although I am not sure where. I believe that his first name was Patrick and 'Platt' was just a nick name. They are all buried in Carmel, Putnam County, New York. It is a real lovely church across the street from a fire house. We had the chance to go and visit the church once about 5 years ago on a trip to Albany, NY. It has been said that Stephen was a County Judge. In the 1840 Census (I think) he is called "Judge" Pinckney.
