| Evansville, Indiana

Norma Kuhlenschmidt's college years were during World War II.  Her mother, Sallie Cleo Baugh Koch was involved in the Navy Mothers Club and had her name down on the "weekend hostess" list for Soldiers, Sailors, and other military members.  As a byproduct, Mother and her groups of girlfriends from high school and college were regularly recruited to attend the USO sponsored events, including an invitation to the formal dedication of the new USO Club in Evansville in 1943.
