A Story about Reggie

Perhaps God is a poet

Who writes with words of flesh and bone

Every hour of every day

Words pour out of the poets heart

And every word is beautiful,

And true and worth the telling

And when each poem is perfect

And there is no more which ought to be said

The Poet gently takes the words

Back into His heart, where they are safe.........

Forever

You were a beautiful poem, I miss you!!!

Reggie is COOL!

Reggie was one of the big boys to me as I grew up. Before I was allowed, he was the one with firecrackers; he was the one with a rifle, and a horse. Then he did the coolest thing EVER. He built a go cart with a motorcycle engine! Man, Reggie is COOL

Daddy we're going camping this weekend..I'd give anything for you to be there with us. I got the wood all loaded up, it's a good thing you taught me how to build a fire, its gonna be cold! I miss you so much...I really need a Dad hug lately. I remember going through a tough time before you left..you hugged me and told me to keep my chin up. So thats what I'm going to do Dad...I'm gonna keep my chin up and do the best I can do. I love you Dad, can't wait to see you and get that long awaited hug. We will have fun camping this weekend and I know you'll be smiling with us. <3

Today is your sweet Amber's wedding day. It is a very bittersweet day, because mixed in with the joy of it, is the remiinder that her daddy is not here to walk her down the isle and give her away. In my heart I know that you will be there in spirit, and I am thankful. I miss you sooooo much, especially on days like today.

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry Is how long must I wait to be with you I close my eyes and I see your face If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow I've never been more homesick than now Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same Cause I'm still here so far away from home I close my eyes and I see your face If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow I've never been more homesick than now In Christ, there are no goodbye And in Christ, there is no end So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have To see you again To see you again And I close my eyes and I see your face If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow I've never been more homesick than now

Reggie never met a stranger. He was always so friendly and outgoing. I always wished that I could be more like him in that way. We had our share of disagreements, but he was a very good man, and a loveing father to our three girls. He worked hard to take care of us, but was always ready to joke and have fun.

Shootin bottle rockets off on the days before and on the fourth!! one time i remember that he set a bottle rocket flat on a wooden post, and i stood directly behind it. one of the sparks flew back and burned a little hole through my shirt, and my dad just laughed and laughed!!!

04 Jul 2009

I remember the time I spent a week or so at your house and we were going to camp out on your trampoline. We were so determined until it started sprinkling. He told us that it really wasn't rain, and that it was airplanes emptying their toilets. that at a certain altitude is was okay because by the time it reached the ground it looked like rain.

22 Jun 2009

I remember very well going to a men's retreat with Joe McGee near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in the Fall of 1994. Reggie & I must've stayed up most of the night talking and sharing. Was a fun time!

21 Jun 2009

He was like a father figure to me and i loved him for that.

21 Jun 2009

When I would go camping with ya'll and we would go tubing he always made it his goal to throw me off. He never succeeded until the last time I went. I guess I can deal with one time out of a million. haha!
