Daniel C. Wade (April 5, 1926 - March 27, 2009)
Daniel C. Wade, 82, of Ada, formerly of Talihina, passed away March 27, 2009, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City. He was born April 5, 1926, in Eagletown, the son of Clayton and Acy Fobb Wade.
He attended Jones Academy, Haskell Institute, Bacone College, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and the University of Oklahoma where he received a BS degree in science.
He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in World War II. He received the Bronze Star, WW II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and a Marksmanship Medal.
He worked as a medical technologist and retired from the Indian Health Service in 1980. Mr. Wade was a member of MTASCP, Elks Lodge #1640, was given the honor of Elk of the Year for the service of veterans, and was a committee chairman.
He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Tahlequah, and served as Deacon-Elder. He enjoyed bowling and golfing.
He was the widower of AnnieBell McIntosh Wade. They were married May 26, 1952, in Hugo. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Acy D. and John Goggana of Rowlett; a son, Andrew C. and Shelia Wade of Ada; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven nieces, three nephews, and a sister, Louise White of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
