Joseph Richards b. 15 Jan 1833, Page Co., Va. Served as a private in the John Kaylor Booton's/William Henry Chapman's Company known as the "Dixie Artillery" (Va), C.S.A. from Page County. Unit was disbanded in October 1862 and Richards has no further service record, but may have been conscripted in 1865, serving, along with his brother Howard, in the 35th Bttn. Va. Cavalry. Married 1 Mar 1855, Page Co., Va., Elizabeth A. Knight, b. 1 Oct 1827, Shenandoah (Page) Co., Va., d. 26 Dec 1911, Va. Joseph died 20 Mar 1916, Page Co., Va.
