John Lythgoe Lies on the Census John Lythgoe arrived in America about 1859 from Lancashire, England (NOT Indiana). He came with his brother-in-law, John Booth (listed below him in the 1860 Census who also lied about his origin). They were working their way west to California.

John lied! He is not from Indiana, and his brother-in-law John Booth (listed below him) is not from Kentucky! They are both from Lancashire, England, having come to America to earn their fortunes and send enough money back home to bring their wives out as well. BTW, John Booth is an ancestor of Donnie & Marie Osmond. John Lythgoe is the brother of my ancestor, James Lythgoe.
