I went through AIT and jump school with Mike. We nicknamed him "Big Mike From Chicago". I never saw Mike after we left Ft.Benning in 1967, but knew of his death and have thought of him often. Mike Cooper

Today is April 14th, 2008. Several years ago a friend of mine died and today would have been his birthday. He was a talented man, cared for his family. He is missed. Somehow this reminds me of Michael William. No one knows how much time they have on this earth, no one should waste time. I say to the family of this young man that he is not alone, not forgotten and that he is an example of how time waits for no one. Tell everyone you Love that you Love them and as often as you can. Love never dies but we do. May special Angels be assigned to guard over Michael's family in the name of Jesus. November 1967 was a tragic month, So many lost in South Vietnam. ( So many sons, husbands, brothers and fathers. ) I am leaving Michael virtual memorial flowers to thank him for his dedication. ( Michael joins my extended family member on The Wall: Edward Leonard Greene. ) April Dayns RN Southeast Iowa

I am so saddened by the loss of this young man at any age, he was 19. Near Michael William must be some of the names of fallen friends, as the date of November 20, 1967 seems a common thread for South Vietnam. Many of these men must have died together, fighting the same enemy. Different ranks, different ages, one goal, one hope. I see that Michael came from Chicago, IL. I am from the state of Iowa, just a state next door. I appreciate your service to your country young soldier, the sacrifice that you made is not forgotten. Godspeed your kind of courage to others in a time of need. Thank you. April Dayns RN
