Carlos nuestro buen amigo de la infancia y un hombre bueno y digno de admiracion . Domingo, Lombardo y Mario O. Robles. Tijuana, Baja California, MEXICO

Thank you Marine for your service to this great nation and to our Corps....

THE WALL

Standing here in front of the Wall
silently reading your name
solemnly I thank you one and all
Each of you different, yet the same

The list seems forever endless
but I remember your faces
you made the supreme sacrifice, I confess
as I walk slowly with measured paces

Each one of you answered the call
willingly or not, you gave your lives
Rest easy, my Brothers - heroes all
The Nation still survives

"War drew us from our homeland

In the sunlit springtime of our youth.

Those who did not come back alive remain

in perpetual springtime -- forever young --

And a part of them is with us always."

Dear Bill

My name is Ruben Guzman Carvajal. I'm a retired Gunny and the brother of your fellow Vietnam War fallen Marine, PFC Carlos Guzman Carbajal. (Name difference is a long story). First of all, thank you! I'm touched and grateful for honoring the memory of my brother and adding a page for him. Second, I have pictures to add and corrections to make on the page. Are you the one I need to contact to make this happen since you created the page? Third, do you or anyone else you might know have more information/details regarding his death and or memories of him of the days prior leading to the day he was killed? I was 15 yrs old when he passed away and he often wrote to me. I received his last letter to me 2 days after we were notified. Any additional information you could share with me would be greatly appreciated.

I Was There

Sender Message cpl Loren Stassart Information Related to your TWS Remembrance Profile #126320  Posted - 8 minutes ago I was with Charlie Company, 1st battalion, 1st Marine Regiment,
1st Marine Division. On 08/25/1968 (same day) I was shot by an ak-47 through and through in the same area Contien quantri. I feel guilty that I survive and a fellow brother did not. I don't know if I knew him, my memory is not too good anymore. My tour also started on or around the same date. I was the first casualty that day. I just want to say Iam so sorry and I don't think any days go bye that I don't reflect on heroes like Carbajal,Carlos Guzmzan.
