Caleb Filer was born 13 Jul 1838, in Putnam Co, Indiana to Benjamin Filer and Mary Eva Hudsonpiller. He is in the 1850 Wayne, Warren Co, Ohio census. He married Cynthia Jane Stallwart on 25 Aug 1861 in Morgan Co, Indiana. He is in the Neoga, Cumberland Co, Illinois in the 1870 census. He is in the 1880 census in Smallwood, Jasper Co, Illinois. Cynthia died on 3 Feb 1890 in Winslow, Dekalb Co, Missouri and is buried there. He married Margaret Ann (Paine) Bock on 6 Nov 1898. He was in the 1900 and 1910 Seward, Logan Co, Oklahoma censuses. He was inteh 1920 Edmond, Oklahoma Co, Oklahoma census. He died 13 Jun 1930 at Edmond, Logan Co, Oklahoma. Caleb was served the Union in the Indiana CompanyH, 33rd Infantry Regiment Indiana. He enlisted on 16 Sep 1861. He as injured at Peachcreek Tree, Georgia just before the push into Atlanta.
