President James K. Polk is the most successful one-term president in the history of America. He set an agenda of lowering tariffs, settling the parallel dispute with England, Admitting Texas into the union and acquiring California. He accomplished all of his agenda and expanded the United States by 1/3. He also micro-managed the Mexican - American War successfully. After his term in office he died shortly after due to all the stress.
