Peterman, 86, of Canoga passed away March 30th, 2013 at GenevaGeneral Hospital. A celebration of Richard's life andinterment in the Canoga Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Contributions in his memory can be made to the charity of one'schoice. Richard was born in Canoga, the son of Cornelius andFlorence Hall Peterman on March 5, 1927. He lived his life in Canogawhere he raised his children and shared his love for fishing and huntingwith them. He served his country in the Army from 1945 to1947. Richard received the Army of Occupation Medal, Europen AfricanMid East Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Shortlyafter his return, he married Estelle M. Hauss. He was employed bythe Seneca Army Depot as a Millwright. During his employment, he wassent to S. Korea, Saco, Maine, Hartford, Conn., Washington D.C., andMuskegan, Mich. on special details. Richard was recognized severaltimes for his participation in the Wild Life Conservation at theDepot. He retired in 1982. He was a charter member of the CanogaSportsmen Club and a member of the Fayette Masonic Lodge #539 F&AM.He is survived by a life long friend, Estelle Peterman; a daughter,Sandra Lynd of Romulus; sons, Dave (Phyllis) Peterman of Seneca Falls andSteve (Cheryl) Peterman of Michigan; a sister, Blanche Doty of Fayette;eight grandchildren, Cara, Malinda, Eric, Megan, Shaun, Alyssa, Machelleand Elias, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins,and several close friends at the Conoga Sportsmen Club. He waspredeceased by sisters Sylvia Marcuccilli, Ava Rivers, Eugenia Morehouse,Mildred Nardi and Marge Kelly; Brothers, Hervert, Cornelius, Paul,Fredrick, and Harold Peterman; and a son-in-law, Walter Lynd.
