Services for Melvin John Worden, 84, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Levis Funeral Home, Bayonne. He died Thursday at Bayonne Medical Center.

He was a division operations manager for REA Express, Long Island, for many years, retiring 26 years ago. Worden also retired from Mosaic Trucking Company.

His previous employers include Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company, Tidewater Oil Company, Preston Trucking and Trans America Trucking.

He was a member of the Masons Lodge 99, Bayonne; and a member of American Legion Post 1000, Trenton.

Worden was a corporal in the Military Police during World War II, serving from 1945 to 1946.

Surviving are four nieces, Barbara Huggins, Gail Clausen, Nancy Bann, and Jane Hurley Regan; and a nephew, John Hunter.
