My father was a member of the "Task Force Pope" 86th Black Hawk division 1945. He served both in Europe and the Pacific during WW II. He didn't talk much about the war, but was very proud serve his country.

Son of Jamison Arthur Reed Sr. and Catherine Verona Reed (nee Ruppert). His paternal great grand parents were Rosa (Chelalicum) Dean a member of the Yakama Nation and Thomas Aubrey Dean a London Cockney who signed on with The Hudson Bay Company at Fort Nisqually. He was proud of his Northwest Native American roots and the Hudson Bay Company roots in Washington state. Dad grew up in Ryderwood, Washington in the Long Bell logging community. Like his father and his grandfather John Martin Reed, he went into the logging industry, however, with the outbreak of World War II he joined the Army which changed the direction of his life. His career was the Army, both as an enlisted man and as a Civil Service employee. He also worked in Vietnam with the Navy as a federal civil service employee.
