Age 60, of Owosso, passed from our lives on Sunday morning, May 29, 2005,

Rob owned and operated Bob's Tire Shop in Owosso from 1986 to the present.

Rob was a member of the Owosso Hunting Club and the Shiawassee Conservation
Rob shared his great love of life in a letter he wrote to family and
friends on May 20, 2005:
"The State for me. My parents were born here too. My wife and son and both
grandparents. Born in "44 while my Dad flew in B-25's in Italy - 65 times,
while Mom, pregnant with me, worked and worried for his safety. Back he came
to give us a wonderful life. Their love for me and each other still warms my
soul. Kathy, my wife, is still a fox and has loved me for 30+ years. She is
my biggest loss upon leaving the earth."
"I've fished since I was 7, hunted at 11, and shot a 5x5 Michigan elk.
Skied and golfed for years, felt all four seasons and loved everyone. I've done
my business here and never owned property outside the state. I served four
years in the U.S.A.F. (fun). Though I was a rebel, I'm red, white and blue
and loved her too. If I've made any enemies, I'm very sorry and feel shame. To
those that loved or respected me, I hope I returned in kind. My friends and
customers were the best you could ask for. If you're reading this, I'll see
you when you get here."
Rob's survivors include: his wife, Kathy; son, Christopher; mother, Agnes
Newman of Owosso; brother, Scott Newman of New Orleans; special friends, Ed

Agnes Dorothy Newman: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
Argus-Press, The (Owosso, MI) - July 30, 2007
Deceased Name: Agnes Dorothy Newman
Passed away at her home on Saturday, July 28, 2007, of cancer. She was 83
years old. As was her wish, she died in her bedroom with its panoramic view
of the Shiawassee River.
Aggie was born in Owosso, March 14, 1924, the youngest child of Henry and
Ella (Miller) Huber. Her family was close and her childhood was filled with
happiness. On Feb. 5, 1944, she married Robert E. Newman; she had first seen
Bob at age 13, and carried a crush on him from then on. Bob was in South
Carolina, preparing to be sent overseas to fight in World War II. In a
startling display of bravura and independence for a sheltered Owosso girl, Aggie
traveled alone by rail to South Carolina, where she and Bob were married.
Aggie and Bob settled into domestic happiness in Owosso when World War II
ended, and were blessed with two sons, Robert Jr. and Scott. Bob's
involvement with Bob's Tire and Auto Repair on Corunna Avenue provided a comfortable
life. They had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed decades of an active
social life. Bob passed away in 1990.
In Hollywood, when actresses of a certain age no longer wished to be seen
publicly, it is said that they "close the door"; as her cancer began its slow
and destructive progression. Aggie chose to close the door and withdraw.
She spent her days in her beloved riverfront home of more than 50 years,
reading and doing crossword puzzles and watching the changing seasons from her
She leaves behind: her son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Kathy (Mrs. Robert E.
Newman Jr.); grandson, Christopher. She is also survived by several nephews
and their families; and by a large number of friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Bob; son, Rob; brother,
Leo Huber; sister, Lois Axford.
