Disagreement between sisters

Princeton, IN

Tillie Reinhart Olds and Anna Helena Reinhart Read always had a disagreement about what was good about having a dead son from World War II returned home.

Tillie's son John Austin Olds was returned to him to be buried in the cemetery where they were burined, but Anna's son James E. Read born Princeton, Gibson County, Indiana born 17 Octover 1924 was stationed in Tampa Florida in May of 1944 and was visiting with my parents James W. Oliver and Betty Jo Olds Oliver while they were stationed there and the pictue of me and my father with James E. Read was taken just before he was to fly out west of Florida and return.  The sad thing is he never returned and Anna said it always left an opening to hope that he would someday return to them.  At least Grandma Tillie Olds knew her son was dead and could move on.
