Uncle "Sedg"

| Hammond, LA

What a delightful man he was. Always a smile, and usually a joke. Not big in stature, but huge in personality. I remember he would push his hat forward (from the rear) with the heel of his hand, stand with his left hand on his left thigh, and his right hand on his right hip. A real "Cock of the Walk"! He was in Africa, fighting Rommel's Afrika Corp, and then went through Italy with Patton. His family loved him dearly (and still does). One of his sisters was my grandmother. I am proud to have known him. The war was filled with "Hero's" like Sedgie, just guys doing what they had to do. He did his part. America owes him, and all the guys like him, a big debt of gratitude. Thanks, Sedgie!
