Lyman Bostock, Sr. was a first baseman in the negro league who played for the Brooklyn Royal Giants, the Birmingham Black Barons, the Chicago American Giants, the Jackie Robinson All-Stars, the Winnipeg Buffaloes, and the Carman Cardinals. His dream was to play in the major leagues with white players. His dream was finally realized when his son, Lyman, Jr., made the big leagues with the Minnesota Twins and the California (L.A.) Angels.
