World War II Hero

| Gainesville, Ga

Gordon Peebles was a real example of the kind of men that fought in World War II. He was married to wife, Elsie and had one son named Eddie.

Gordon went to war in France and landed on the beaches of Normandy . He rarely spoke of it, but did talk in later years abot the fighting and seeing parachuterers hanging from the St. Alyses Church.

His wife did not see him for over 4 years, but waited patiently for him to return home.

He then worked his final years at the Post Office in Gainesville , Ga.

He lived to be over 90, and passed awy in Oct. of 2009.

A real American hero.
