Robert Schisler

February 18, 2009|The Morning Call--Lehigh County, PENNSYLVANIARobert P. Schisler, 82, of Belfast, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Joyce (Kessler) Schisler with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage this past June 22. Born June 20, 1926 in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Paul and Florence (Hall) Schisler. Robert served in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an equipment operator for Metropolitan Edison for 35 years and the former Nazareth Waist Mills. Robert was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Belfast and served on the property committee for 14 years. He also served as the chairman of the Belfast Union Cemetery Board. Additionally, Robert was the founder and president of the Belfast Youth Club, as well as a charter member and president of the Plainfield Lions Club. He served as a president of the Belfast Rod & Gun Club, and was a president of the Coffee Trotters Camping Club. Robert was also active in cub scouts and served as a cub master for Pack 39.
