SGT. RALPH DILLON MISSING IN ACTION, FAMILY ADVISED

Cohoes Soldier Had Been Serving with Second Armored Division

Sgt. Ralph J. Dillon of the Army has been missing in action in Germany since April 14, according to word received by his wife, Mrs. Mary T. Dillon of 116 Vliet Boulevard.

The soldier, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dillon of Loudon Road, has been serving with the Second Armored Division of the Ninth Army and fought in France, Belgium and Holland before entering Germany.

Sergeant Dillon, who was formerly employed in the New York State Motor Vehicle Bureau, entered the service Dec. 3, 1943 and received his basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla., where he graduated from Army School as a high speed radio operator. He was sent overseas in July, 1944, serving in England before being sent to the continent.

The couple have a 3-year-old son, Brian Michael Dillon.

Sergeant Dillon, 29, assigned to the 41st Regiment of the 2d Armored Division, has been missing in action since Apr. 14 on the U. S. 9th Army front in Germany, the adjutant general has notified his wife, Mrs. Mary T. Dillon, 116 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes.

The soldier is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dillon, Loudon Rd., Cohoes. Before entering Germany he participated in battles for France, Belgium and Holland. A former employe of the State Motor Vehicle Bureau, Sergeant Dillon joined the armed forces December, 1943. He was sent overseas in July, 1944.

He is the father of a 3-year old son, Brian Michael Dillon.
