Former Widows' Pension Applications

In this example, Sarah Bosworth, who had been previously married to Joshua Ford (who was the Revolutionary War veteran) and who had subsequently married a Mr. Bosworth, applied for a pension based on the service of her first husband. This card shows that Ford served for Massachusetts, that she applied for a Widow's pension and a Bounty-Land Warrant, and that she received 160 acres of land in accordance with the act of 1855.
