Peter Arrant Served With "Swamp Fox".

| Chesterfield District, SC

In the declaration accompanying his application for a pension, given when he was age 83 "in November next" (or currently age 82), he stated that his second enlistment was with General Francis Marion's Brigade under the command of Lt. George Taylor at Benbow's Ferry. Because he was unable to read or write, Arrant was unable to tell the dates of his service. See his declaration to the right.
