Stories

Louis Eugene Raffety was married to Alice Campbell on Feb. 8, 1941 (my grandmother) They had 1 child Pamela Gene(Raffety) Wachutka Both she and his widow Alice survive him. He has 2 grandchildren Hilary and Patrick. And 1 great grandson Liam.... He was part of the 101st Airborne and was one of the first Americans to land in Holland. He was wounded by shrapnel in the legs but quickly returned to his command. He died a hero by going out to the battlefield not regarding his own safety and pulled his wounded men off the field of battle where he was shot and killed. He recieved a purple heart with an oak leaf cluster among many other ribbons and awards for his service. But I (his granddaughter) would like to know more about him. My grandmothers and

and grandfather(step) can only tell me so much. So if there is anyone that is still alive that served with him please contact me.
