T/Sgt. Donald P. Dronenberg from Prophetstown, Illinois was assigned to Co. H, 262nd Regiment, 66th Infantry division. He was aboard the SS Leopoldville when it was sunk on Dec. 24, 1944 by a German Uboat.

Donald is the son of Ralph Dronenberg & Nellie Brady. He had two sisters, Edna and Evelyn. Both ladies married brothers, Don and John Peterson.
