Enlistment into the military

| Boston, MA

Charlie enlisted in the military at Fort Banks in Boston, MA for the Hawaiin Department. He served in World War II in Burma with Merrill's Marauders, and received the Purple Heart.

 

During the Korean War he served as a Master Sergeant with the US Army Reserve 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Division. He was killed on December 1, 1950 during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir (11/27/1950 - 12/6/1950).

 

He had been married in Louisiana just prior to shipping out to Korea.
