Correcting the information
4 January 2013 | Van Buren, Arkansas
This my father. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was not an actor. In fact He had 6 months to go to complete his engineering degree at the Colegio de Agricultura y Artes Mecanicas (now the University of PR-Mayaguez Campus, my alma mater) in Mayaguez, PR, when he was activated as part of the PR National Guard in response to the Pearl Harbor attack. At the time he was an NCO. Some time later he attended OCS and ended the war as a company commander. After the war he took advantage of the GI Bill and studied medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. He did his internship at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.. He did surgery in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He did orthopedics at Letterman Army Hospital in El Presidio, San Francisco, California (where I was born). At one time he was the commander of Rodriguez Army Hospital in Fort Brooke, San Juan, PR. His last post was Fort Leonard Wood from where he retired in 1965 as a Lt. Col, MC, USA. After that he moved back to PR, and established his private practice in Mayaguez, PR.
