Stories

Arthur Day Girton, born 24 May 1928 in Great Falls, Montana, is my uncle [brother of my father Melvin Emerson Girton].  He is the sole survivor of 11 children of Emery Franklin  and Margaret Scott (Snook) Girton.

Art, his wife Phyllis and 4 of their 5 children emigrated to Canada and currently (2014) reside in British Columbia.

Art and his brothers Bill, Don and Russell served in the Army in World War II.  Melvin was unable to serve due to vision problems.  I remember my uncles talking about being in the same place at the same time (I think in France) a couple times during their Army service but only discovering this after they left the service.
