Robert Neil Mullin

Military Service

Robert Neil Mullin, son of Robert Mullin & Alta Grace Hammond Mullin. Born 14 June 1922 at Boise, Ada, ID. Attended Lewiston H.S. and graduated Gonzaga H.S, Spokane, WA. in 1939 and attended Gonzaga Univ. until 1942.  Served with 44th Bomb Group at Shipdam, East Anglia, England, during World War II.  Flight engineer crew member of B24 Liberator "Pregnant Peg". Also worked with 3rd SAG at Watton, England. In England from July, 1943 until June 30, 1944. Flew missions on D-Day.  Rescued by French June 10, 1944 after surviving plane crash outside of Caen, France.  Following European theater, stationed at Brookley Field, Mobile, AL. Served in US Air Force during Korean Conflict, stationed at Portland, OR airbase and Nashville, TN.  Avid aviator his entire life, multi-engine, instrument-rated pilot's license.  Owner of Machinery Sales Company, Portland, OR.
