Shot Down in Truk Atoll Attack, MIA

| Truk Atoll

Claude W. Augnspaugh was a navigator and radioman on a Helldiver that was on a mission to bomb ships at Truk Atoll whn he was shot down by AA gunfire.  He was listed as MIA.  He was the only son of Morgan and Dove Aunspaugh who later returned to their home state of Arkansas and later where they were buried at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.  Claude's remains are still at sea as far as is known.
