Bridge in Northern Italy.  Plane Shot Down By Flak, Inverted and Crashed Into
Hill at North End of Lake Garda. 4 to 5 Chutes Seen. The Two Pilots Were
Killed in the Crash and the 5 Surviving Crew Members Were Captured By The ENEMY

Harlan Norval Tulley

Harlan Norval Tulley, 90, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at
Sheridan VA Medical Center. Private services will be later at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Tulley was born Oct. 29,1915, in Worley, Idaho, to Lucian Allan and Harriet Anna (Burlingam) Tulley. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in soil conservation, later transferring to the U.S. State Department in
Washington, D.C. His job later took him to residences in Haiti, Nigeria and Ethiopia. He married Agnes Smith in 1942 in Sheridan.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and flew in B-25 Mitchell bombers with the 12th Air Force, 57th Bomb Wing, 321 Bomb Group, 447 Squadron. He was shot down over the Brenner Pass and was a prisoner of war in Nuremberg, Germany, until his release in April
1945.

He was a 50-year member and past master of Sheridan Masonic Lodge 8, past high priest of Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar, past commander of DeMolay No. 6, Royal Arch Mason of Wyoming and grand commander for the state of Wyoming, past master of Royal Archy and selected master of Wyoming. He was a life member of Kalif Shrine and Kalif Buckskin Horse Patrol, past sovereign
of Red Cross of Constantine, a 50-year member and five-time past patron of Naomi Chapter No. 2, Order of Eastern Star and a member of St. Denny
Conclave, Scottish Rite Free Mason and St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife; and two sons, William and Fredric, both of Sheridan. Memorials may be made to Sheridan VAMC Building 86 Nursing Unit or Knights Templar Eye
