Stories

Blackout

New York, New York

One of the stories I remember hearing about my uncle, Don, was that he had patrol duty during a blackout.  I believe he was in New York patrolling the pier when he missed the turn and walked off the pier into the freezing water.  He had his heavy pea coat, boots, etc. on and they couldn't turn on any lights to get him out.  Somehow he found his way out though!
