Deceased Name: LOY G. MYERS
85 Of Pahokee died November 5, 2005 in West Palm Beach. Mr. Myers was born
in Allen County, Ohio in 1919. He had been a Glades resident since 1959. He
was a local barber in Pahokee for 40 years. Mr. Myers was a veteran serving
with the U.S. Army Air Corp. as an Aerial Gunner with 50 combat missions
during World War II. He flew over 193:40 combat hours and was awarded an Eame
Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars Decoration for an act when one of the
planes crash landed in the ocean. He aided the safe return of the entire
crew.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Myers of Pahokee; son, Loy G. Myers
Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter, Cindy J. McKinstry of
Loxahatchee; and five grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday (TODAY) November 8, 2005 from 10:00 AM to
11:00 AM with service at 11:00 AM at Glades Funeral Chapel in Belle Glade.
