S/Sgt James M. Garrard

2 July 1943 | KIA Lecce Airdome, Italy

The 68th Squadron of the 44th Bomb Group sent six aircraft on the Lecce Airdome, Italy mission.  Of the six, MISS VIRGINIA (A/C 42-40094 Bar E) did not return.  This is the aircraft in which S/Sgt Garrard served as a tail gunner.  

The picture provided on this page was taken by Crew Chief Louis Rabesa Jr., a friend of James who remembers him fondly.
