S/Sgt James M. Garrard

KIA Lecce Airdome, Italy

The 68th Squadron of the 44th Bomb Group sent six aircraft on the Lecce Airdome, Italy mission.  Of the six, MISS VIRGINIA (A/C 42-40094 Bar E) did not return.  This is the aircraft in which S/Sgt Garrard served as a tail gunner.

The picture provided on this page was taken by Crew Chief Louis Rabesa Jr., a friend of James who remembers him fondly.

If you are a relative of this veteran please make contact with me. I am writing a book for a friend of his from the 68th.
