Hi, Barbi, (From Charlie)   Dad was born in Rockledge, Florida, in 1918.  He died in Rockledge, Florida, in 1973.  Thanks!   Charlie
I wrote the military archives in St. Louis as Patti suggested, but dad's military records were among those destroyed in the 1973 fire.  I had previously contacted my brother in Florida to see if he had any of dad's records.  Quite to his surprise, about a week later, his wife found a satchel of dad's military records in a closet in their condo.  There were hundreds of pages ranging from 1940 to 1946.

By the way, dad was a flight instructor in Tucson for awhile.  So we have an Arizona connection.

Dad left the United States for Italy on 10 March 1945, and he left Italy on 18 June 1945.  I have scanned a few pages of his military records for you.  Here's what's included:

Page 1: 10 March 1945.  Flight from New York to Naples, Italy.
Page 2: Back of the first page.
Page 3: 18 March 1945 flight log.
Page 4: 21-24 March 1945 flight log.
Page 5: 2 April 1945 flight log.
Page 6: 20 May 1945.  Transfer from the 484th BG into the 461st BG.
Page 7: 18 June 1945.  Flight from Italy back to the USA.

Charles son Charlie is particularly interested in finding are the mission reports from the March and April 1945 flights.  Specifically, what were the targets?  Based on information I remember as a kid, I would guess Austria.  I also remember dad's saying that he caught pneumonia and was in the hospital in Italy when the war ended.
