In My Own Words:
After flying many B-25 missions in Italy during WWII, I opened an insurance business in Washington, DC. Thirty years later I sold it to my employees to devote time for writing and for hands-on social service work, primarily in nursing facilities.
After writing my autobiography, Soutern Boy, I realized there are twelve ingredients in the recording of a life story. After researching 100 of the world's most famous autobiographies, I selected examples to demonstrate these twelve components. I then wrote Next in Line to motivate seniors to write about themselves. A staff member at the British Library, where I did much of my study, predicted that Next in Line will have a profound effect on the writing of future autobiogaphies. In addtion to conducting workshops, I have prepared a guide that I have made available, at no cost, to public libraries in USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
