Question: Do you remember where Rowland Bergstrom was when you were in Czechoslovakia?

CHAD,

YOUR FATHER WOULD SPEND MOST OF HIS TIME AT BATALLION HQTS. BATALLION HEADQUARTERSQTS WAS CLOSE BY BUT IN ANOTHER SECTION OF KYMAGUYA.

IT WAS PRETTY MUCH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOUR COMPANIES MAKING UP THE 386th INFANTRY REGIMENT.

ALL OF THE RECORDS OF M COMPANY, FOR THE MOST PART WERE ON FILE THERE. YOUR FATHER ATE WITH COMPANY M AND SLEPT IN A ROOM WHERE 1st SGT. FEATHERS HAD HIS ROOM AS WELL.

IF I WANTED TO SEE YOUR FATHER I COULD CATCH HIM WHILE EATING. I COULD ALWAYS ASK FOR PERMISSION TO SEE HIM AT BATALLION HEADQUARTERS.

FOR EXAMPLE, IF I WANTED TO CHANGE THE ALLOTMENT TO MY MOTHER, I WOULD CATCH HIM WHILE HE WAS AT M COMPANY OR GET PERMISSION, FROM SGT. FEATHERS, AND RUN OVER TO BATALLION AND SPEAK TO YOUR DAD.

IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME CHAD AND YOUR QUESTION BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES. LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH EASIER FOR YOUR FATHER IF WE HAD COMPUTERS BACK THEN.

IT WAS SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU CHAD.

Quote about George W Feather - "Don't call me sir, I am Sergeant Feathers" – He was an old army guy - stern but neat. Comment from Dick Lawson
