Jasper N Wheeler was born in about 1838 in Jefferson County, Florida.  He can be found accounted for on the 1840 Census for Jefferson County, Florida on his father Zachariah G Wheeler’s enumeration (See Uploaded Image).  Jasper N Wheeler is also enumerated with his family on the 1850 Census for Madison County, Florida age 12 (See Uploaded Image).  Madison County, Florida is connected to Jefferson County, Florida.  Jasper N Wheeler was also enumerated on the 1860 Census for Taylor County, Florida with his family, age 22, Occupation Farmer (See Uploaded Image).  Taylor County, Florida had been created out of Jefferson and Madison County, Florida in 1856.  A document that I found and copied from Cornelious Beazleys' probate records, located at the Keystone Kin Library, Monticello, Jefferson County, Florida, States,  “Re Tallahassee March 14th 1860 of J.S. Rust Ext. Of Est C Beazly Twenty Four Dollars for Two Months services as Overseer of Plantation in 1859 - Jasper Wheeler” (See Uploaded Image).  On the 1859 Taylor County, Florida Tax Rolls J N Whellor is taxed as, 1 21 year old and up, along side his father Z G Whellor.  He is also on the 1860 Taylor County, Florida Tax Rolls, Jasper N is taxed as 1 21 year old and up, along side his father Z G wheeler.  Referencing the Soldiers of Florida serving in the Confederate States Army in The War Between the States, 1861 - 1865, Wheeler, J. N. Brigade I Company l Regiment 2.  Private joined up 29 June 1861 at Madison; promoted to 5th Sergeant and 1st Sergeant, killed 6 May 1864.  Apparently the Florida 2nd Infantry Company l was known as the “Madison Rangers”.  Jasper N Wheeler was killed in the Battle of Wilderness II, 6 May 1864.

Another interesting factoid is that on the 1860 Taylor County, Florida Census Jasper N Wheeler's father was the Census Taker.
