The EMMERSON'S of Portsmouth Virginia, also fought as CONFEDERATE'S of Virginia, at least one was in the same unit as her, Mary's husband's John.
So much information regarding this family can be found in the reprint paperback version of her husband's only book, which was about the civil war, called
"RECOLLECTIONS FROM 1860 TO 1865" by John H. LEWIS, published in Washington DC, by PEAKE AND CO, about 1895, originally.
