First Oil Well In Tulsa County, Oklahoma

25 June 1901 | Red Fork, Indian Territory

On 25 June 1901 the Sue A. Bland oil lease produced the first oil well in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.  The well was originally in Red Fork Township, Indian Territory, a place that was incorporated into the City of Tulsa in 1927.
