Alfred A. was born July 10, 1838 in Hantz, England. He was possibly the son of Charles Buckle.
Alfred possibly married[20] Anna L. LAWRENCE on Dec. 25, 1858 in St. Martin, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.
He died March 20, 1906 in Ironton, Lawrence Co., Ohio and was buried[19] in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Lawrence Co., Ohio.
BUCKLE
"Alfred Buckle, a well known and highly esteemed resident of this city died at the home of his son, Harry, on South Fifth Street after an illness of three months, aged 68 years.
Mr. Buckle was born in Hantz, England and came to this country at 21 years of age. [about 1859]
On arriving in this country he was employed by the U. S. government in the coast survey and resided at Washington, D.C., until coming to this city, 30 years ago [about 1876], since which time he has been a continuous resident here.
He is survived by the following named children, Clarence, and Harry Buckle and Mrs. Ida Mayne of this city and George L. of San Diego, Cal.
He was a member of the Christian church and lived a consistent Christian life.
The funeral services took place from the Christian church at 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. The burial was at Woodland cemetery." ["Ironton Register", May 24,

"Mr. Buckle - Died Sunday Morning After a Long Illness.
Mr. Alfred Buckle, aged 68 years, died Sunday morning at 9 o’clock, after an illness of three months. The deceased had been a resident of Ironton for thirty years, and at all times he enjoyed the respect and esteem of everybody. He was a member of the Christian church and was a good man. He is survived by the following named children: Clarence D., Mrs. Ida C. Mayne, Harry W. of this city, and George of San Diego, Cal.
The funeral services over the remains will be held in the Christian church at 3 o’clock this afternoon and Rev. Francis will conduct the services. The burial will be in Woodland cemetery." ["Semi Weekly Irontonian", May 22, 1906]
