Delmore Pace, 71, of Pisgah Forest went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his residence.

He was a native of Bell County, Ky., and a son of the late Leonard H. and Mable Jackson Pace. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Hendricks Pace; seven brothers, Venson Sandford Pace, Morris Pinkney Pace, Curtis Homer Pace, Clifton Allan Pace, Landis Leon Pace, John Glenn Pace and Loyd Elmer B[typo: P] ace; and a sister, Ruby Lee Pace. He was a veteran and had worked for Perkins Laundry, Perkins Oil Co. and Kimberly-Clark. He loved playing harmonica with the Pisgah Mt. Travelers.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Marie Tinsley of Brevard and Sheila Ann Mason of Pisgah Forest; a son, Mark C. Pace of Pisgah Forest; four sisters, Vivian Riveria, Doris E. Warren, Ruth Ester Pace and Gladys Marie Smith; and eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Matthew, Jessica and Shania [typo:  Shaina] Mason and Matt, Katelynne, Elizabeth and Caroline Pace.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Owing officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Gardens with military graveside rites by the Brevard VFW and American Legion. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
