Richard was in WW11 stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Richard Bixler of Boulder, Colorado apparently fell from the rubber boat that he was fishing from
and is presumed drowned, in Half Moon Lake.
Bixler, 67, had paddled out into the lake some 250 yards from shore when the incident occurred.
Sheriffs officers sent divers down that afternoon but could not locate the body.
On Thursday dragging operations took place, members of the search and rescue unit,
sheriffs officers and some private citizens donated their time, effort and boats
in a futile attempt to retrieve the body in 130' deep water.
Divers were sent down again on Friday but they could not locate the body.
Sheriffs officers are still searching for the body but due to the water depth and cold
temperature of the water, future efforts will be on a limited basis.
Game and Fish personnel were on hand in the dragging operations and donated
their time and boats to ferry the divers out to where the incident took place.
