Stories

How much she loved everyone and how much fun we had when we came tovisit. the thing that i remember the most is that I got to see her one last time before she died and i went on my mission. That was really special to me

I am honored to be her son. She was the best and most beautiful mom anyone could have.

She was a second mom to me. I am grateful I was able to have her in my life. She always made me feel special and cared about. I treasure every memory and I am a better person for knowing her. XO

Thank you for your kindness, your understanding and for always making me feel welcome and special. I will always cherish the time I was able to share with you and I will always miss you! XO God bless and love you!!

I remember how beautiful she always looked, I never saw her without her hair and makeup fixed beautifully. I also remember that Charlie was on old grump at times and Darlyne would try and set him straight, it was in a cute funny way. I remember going to the hospital with Brennan when he was tiny and it was foreign to him to see his Grandma there without her makeup and pretty clothes. It was hard for all of us to see her that way, she was a beautiful person and I was blessed to know her. I cannot believe that she's been gone this long!

Darlyne's Obituary

Deseret News, Salt Lake City, Utah

Darlyne Cosby Bell, 72, born to Cora Snow Wright and John Robert Cosby on May 24, 1928, in Mesa, Arizona.

She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer on October 18, 2000. She was an inspir ation to all who knew her. She grew up in Southern California where she met the love of her life, Charles Allen Bell. They were married on January 31, 1948, and sealed for time and all eternity with their three children in the Los Angeles Temple on June 19, 1976.

The Bell home has been a place of love and comfort for family and friends throughout the years. Darlyne encircled those she knew in the arms of welcome, acceptance and good humor. Smiles and laughter came easily when Darlyne was present. Her positive outlook and tolerant attitude influenced all who knew her. She inspired us all with the desire to do better. Darlyne deeply loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her five grandchildren were the joy of her life. Much of her time was devoted to involvement in their activities. Her legacy to them was her example of unconditional love.

Darlyne has been a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served diligently in all auxiliaries of the church over the years. Darlyne possessed the spirit of missionary work and her example brought many people into the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the years of her life. She and her husband served a mission on Temple Square from November 1994 to January 1996. This calling brought her tremendous joy and she often expressed the desire to serve another mission.

Darlyne is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-two years, Charles; her sister, Ella and brother Harold; her two faithful sons, Roger and Robbie; her loving daughters-in-law, Liz and Gina; son-in-law, Karl Pittman; her five beloved grandchildren, Kaylie, Evan, Brennan, Matthew, and Haylee along with cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
