Carl Johan Elmlund (1874-1962) was the 1st son of Fredrik Elmlund (1849-1894/5) and Anna Kajsa Kjellberg (1847-1886). After Anna's death Fredrik re-married to Johanna Louisa Ahlberg (1856-1939) on August 22, 1890 in Sweden. Carl Johan Elmlund's siblings were: Un-named Elmlund (1876-1876); Amanda Elmlund (1877-1888); Per Emil Elmlund (1879-1953); Clara Charlotta (1882-1915); and Axel Rudolf (1884-1884). The family settled in Oregon. After the death of their father (Fredrik), Carl, Per Emil, and, Clara Charlotta moved to Riverside Cailifornia and Carl Johan Elmlund married Ellen Karolina Andersson Dauhn (1881-1981) on November 30, 1905 in Los Angeles, CA. The children of Carl & Ellen were: Carl Frederick Elmlund; John Vernon Elmlund; Dorthy Hannah Elmlund; Edgar Emerson Elmlund; Leland Robert Elmlund; Eva Florence Elmlund; and Helen Vivian Elmlund. Carl Johan died on December 4, 1962 in Riverside, California. Carl Johan was a brother of my grandfather, Per Emil Elmlund (1879-1953). Per Emil and Carl Johan Elmlund both emigrated to the United States of America from Sweden in 1893 with six other family members (Johanna Louisa [stepmother], Clara Charlotta [sister], Johanna Mary [Aunt & wife of Fredrik's brother {August Elmlund}], Carl Gustaf [cousin], Frank E [cousin], and Clara ? [cousin]). They all arrived in New York on the S.S. Venetia of the Hamburg Amerika Line on May 19, 1893 and were processed through Ellis Island.From NY they travelled by train to Oregon [likely Portland].
