In WWII, Lt R W Richardson became a B-25 Mitchell Medium Bomber Pilot, he was in the Original Cadre' of the 321st Bomb Group, assigned to the 447th Bomb Squad, which was under the 57th Bomb Wing and in Gen Jimmy Doolittle's 12th AIR FORCE.

321stBG,447thBS, Lt Richardson "Big Rich" would be "CAPTAIN Richardson when he finished his 50 Missions and returned to the ZI (Continental USA) Lt Richardson flew the "HARP" #41-31007 over the Atlantic in the [now famous] Knapp Flight Over in Feb. 1943, the Southern Route. Bif Rich and his Crew flew nearly all of their Combat Missions to together and finished up before the 321st BG moved to Italy.
